WRITERS LOG OCTOBER 20TH, 2015

START TIME: 9:52PM

WRITING PROJECTS:
  1. Journal
  2. Create New Blog
PROGRESS: I created this blog, which is a record of my writing world. Previously, I had a blog entitled: "Writing in Coffee Shops" at http://beaheroine.blogspot.com. It focused on finding the perfect place to write instead of finding the time. So I decided to create a new blog which is a record of my writing journey and place for me to scribble ideas. I spent the copying these records which were originally just written in a notebook, but I thought it would be a good idea to have them in the cloud.

FUTURE PLANS: I am hoping to continue and put finishing touches on this blog, create a blog entry on why writing warm-ups are important, do more writing prompts and continue my long term projects.

WRITER'S LOG OCTOBER 18TH 2015

START TIME ROUND #1: 3:30PM
WRITING PROJECTS:
  1. Journal
  2. "The Underwater Story"
  3. Edit "The Cricket"
  4. Write Query Letters/Send to Publishers
  5. Udemy Course
PROGRESS: I started the day with some much needed private journal writing, then worked on "The Underwater Story," but the novel is seeming hopeless again and I wonder if all writers feel this about their novel at some point. I have heard horror stories of novelists tossing away a novel after working on it for years, but I'm not quite ready to do that with this one yet.
END TIME ROUND #1: 7:00PM, but took a break in between so docking the time 45minutes
TOTAL TIME: 2 Hours 45 Minutes

START TIME ROUND #2: 8:20PM
PROGRESS: I continued working n "The Underwater Story"
END TIME ROUND #2: 9:35PM
TOTAL TIME: 1 Hour 15 Minutes

START TIME ROUND #3: 11:00PM
PROGRESS: I broke away from "The Underwater Story," and started reading the book 59 Reasons to Write. The book inspired me to follow some of the writing prompts and I made the decision to always do a warm-up writing prompts before beginning long term projects. I have added writing prompt entries to this blog and will soon post as to why I find them useful and important.
END TIME ROUND #3: 11:30PM

WRITING PROMPT #1: DESCRIBE THE KITCHEN OF YOUR CHILDHOOD

I'm not sure why, but I'm not all that fond of this writing prompt. I can't help but wonder if it's because I didn't really enjoy my kitchen much as a child.

When I was very young it had orange and green flowered wall paper and dark brown cabinets with a light green refrigerator. I would've just been a baby in a high chair at the time facing the sink that had a window right above it. outside the window you could see our backyard and a small woods that would later be chopped down for them to build my future elementary school.

The only thing I remember eating in my high chair is ice cream. I'm sure my mother gave me other healthier foods, but the ice cream was so cold and so sweet and so delicious, that I remember flipping the spoon over in my mouth and gurgle spitting with joy.

When I got older the 70's décor was replaced with traditional 90's décor. Our cabinets were replaced with white ones and we had white flower wallpaper and white and a white and pink tiled floor.

Growing up we always had a dog, usually a German Shepard. The kitchen is where the dog was kept when company came over, or when it came inside with muddy paws or when we were training it to go outside that's where the puppy's crate was kept. I don't think the dog minded much because that's where we were mostly likely to drop food.

I had a small step stool with puppy stickers on it that I used to help bake. My mother would always tie my hair back and make me wear an apron before we began. Then we'd throw ingredient after ingredient into a bowl, usually it involved sugar, oh so sweet sugar, mixed with butter and oil and sometimes chocolate. I'd count the strokes as we stirred it all together...one....two...three....to 60 for brownies, but usually much more for cakes. My mother would pour the sweet batter into a pan and then let me lick the bowl...but I'd always have to back up when the oven opened as I was too afraid the heat would swallow me up and I'd burn away.

WRITER'S LOG OCTOBER 15TH, 2015

START TIME: 8:04PM

WRITING PROJECTS:
  1. "The Underwater Story"
PROGRESS: I really had to push myself to work on this story again. After re-writing chapters 8 and 9, I continued to edit through to chapter 12 and the story is seeming more feasible to piece together.

FUTURE PLANS: I am planning to write this weekend, but I may end switching projects if it becomes to much to power write one book for more than two hours at a time.

WRITER'S LOG OCTOBER 14TH, 2015

START TIME: 7:44PM

WRITING PROJECTS:
  1. Work on Novel "The Underwater Story"

PROGRESS: Today I rewrote chapter 8 of "The Underwater Story," I have been working on this novel for years and have a lot of faith in it because I wrote the initial ideas for this novel in fifth grade which makes me confident that the ideas came from pure naked imagination. However, there will probably be many more rewrites to come as sometimes trying to piece these ideas together seems like a lost cause.

FUTURE PLANS: Refer back to outline that was created when I revisited this novel this year. My hopes are that this will allow me to stay on track and get the story on track.
